Main Thought: The prophet Elijah was steadfast in God’s word in the face of persecution. The person who follows God is steady like a tree because God’s word never changes. The wicked are blown like dust by the wind because they follow their own unstable ways.

Main Thought: God is our truest teacher through His word. The world’s teachers, whether old or new, are in no way comparable to the God who created the world and still upholds it. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

Main Thought: Psalm 88 is a prayer of the suffering Christ. When we are troubled we can pray this with Christ. When we are well we can remember Jesus’ great sacrifice which gives us forgiveness of sins and every blessing.
